The concept behind a spider trap is very simple. You create a sticky base that can be placed around the edges of a room, against large cracks in the wall or other places that a spider may walk or enter the house and sit back. As the spider, or other insect pest, walks over the base they become stuck to it and are unable to escape. Most traps come with foldable cardboard tabs to wrap up your catches before disposing of them.

Some models of trap either come with a pheromone based bait in the glue or with pheromone tablets to stick into the middle of each trap. These are designed to attract the local population into the trap actively rather than waiting for them to walk over it by chance.

It is important to note that spider traps are not humane and result in the spider starving to death or being crushed as you fold the cardboard tabs over prior to disposal.
